Dave Nelson

Dave Nelson

President

Dave Nelson is president of Pacific Floorcare®. He joined the company in 2010 and was charged with increasing company revenue and profitability using his expertise in new products and operations excellence.  More specifically, Dave’s responsibilities include strategic planning, organizational change, employee development, process optimization, systems engineering, and more, as he guides Pacific to future growth.

Prior to joining Pacific, Dave was vice president of Engineering, Design and Manufacturing for Heat Transfer International, a technology developer and manufacturer of custom renewable energy biomass power plants. Dave also spent 10 years with Tennant Company, a recognized leader in manufacturing commercial and industrial cleaning equipment and floor coatings, holding a number of positions, including general manager, Commercial Products. Dave’s career history also includes 16 years in the automotive industry, serving as Engineering manager with Lacks Industries, Donnelly Corporation and the Saginaw Division of General Motors Corporation. Perhaps foreshadowing his future, Dave earned his way through college by scrubbing, polishing, stripping, and recoating floors.

Over the course of his 30-year career, Dave has developed a reputation as a results-oriented change agent and a thoughtful and collaborative leader.

Dave received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Masters in Business Administration in Operations Management from the University of Michigan. Dave enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary Beth, and their two sons.

Kyle Strait

Kyle Strait

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Kyle Strait is vice president of Sales and Marketing at Pacific Floorcare®. He joined the company in 2012 in an effort to re-define and re-focus the brand, develop and manage the new product roadmap, and create a high-performing sales organization. Kyle’s role is pivotal to helping the company increase market share, revenues and profitability.

Prior to joining Pacific, Kyle was Global Product Marketing manager of Commercial Products with Tennant Company, a recognized leader in manufacturing commercial and industrial cleaning equipment and floor coatings. During his 10 years with Tennant Company, Kyle led the marketing efforts for the company’s two most successful and internationally recognized product technology launches. He is credited with leading the Commercial Products division to two consecutive years of record revenues in 2010 and 2011, making the division Tennant’s largest and fastest growing. His prior experience also includes roles at Herman Miller, Inc., Thermotron Industries and Martin Distributors, Inc.

Over the course of his 20-year career, Kyle has developed a reputation as an accomplished marketer specializing in new product branding and positioning and launch marketing.

Kyle received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Grand Valley State University. Kyle is an avid runner and active water skier, golfer and all-around sports enthusiast. Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and his two children.

Kip Kauffman

Kip Kauffman

Principal Engineer

Kip Kauffman is principal engineer at Pacific Floorcare®. He joined the company in 2011 in an effort to streamline the company’s product development process, direct the company’s team of engineers and developers, and lead new product research and development. Kip’s leadership will be evident when Pacific introduces its first new auto scrubber since 2008, the S-20.

Prior to joining Pacific, Kip spent 10 years with Tennant Company, a recognized leader in manufacturing commercial and industrial cleaning equipment and floor coatings, most recently as senior principal engineer of New Product Development. Kip’s career history also includes time spent at National Bulk Equipment as technical project manager, and engineering positions at Holland Hitch, Schlafhorst Automation, and Sundstrand Pneumatic Systems.

Over the course of his 26-year career, Kip has developed a reputation as an innovator in new product design and development and a champion of continuous improvement initiatives.

Kip received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Kip enjoys spending time with wife, Nancy, and their daughter and two sons. He also enjoys walking, reading and home improvement projects.

Jeff Oberlin

Operations Director

Jeff Oberlin is director of operations at Pacific Floorcare®. He joined the company in 2013 in an effort to further enhance Pacific’s position in operational and engineering excellence.

Prior to joining Pacific, Jeff spent over 13 years with Tennant Company, a recognized leader in manufacturing commercial and industrial cleaning equipment and floor coatings.  Most recently he held the title of Senior Engineering Manager of New Product Development, but had led Current Products engineering as well as Program Management during his time there.  While at Tennant, Jeff was credited with building high performing teams, bringing several new innovative technologies to market and laying the foundation for a modular design strategy in commercial products.  His prior experience also includes roles at Varatech Engineering Consultants, Imagyn Surgical, and Prince Corporation.

Over the course of his 22 year professional career, Jeff has developed a reputation as an accomplished cross functional leader capable of building talented, results oriented teams.  Jeff has a strong foundation in continuous improvement and leverages that in his role at Pacific Floorcare® leading Operations including Current Product Engineering. 

Jeff received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University.  Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife Dionne, and his two daughters McKenna and Kylie. He enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, golf, and running as well as re-building classic cars.

Amber Johnson

Controller

Amber Johnson is Controller at Pacific Floorcare.  She joined the company in 2012 in an effort to continue to hold the company to the highest accounting standards, as well as provide support and analysis in new product development, systems implementation and standard work.  Amber’s role is critical in laying a solid foundation for a strong future.

Prior to coming to Pacific Floorcare Amber spent 10 years in automotive working for Dana Corporation in roles that included Cost Accountant, Internal Auditor, Controller and Financial Analyst.  She then moved to the office furniture industry, and spent 7 years as a Senior Financial Analyst for Haworth Corporation.  Amber’s work experience has provided a wealth of knowledge having the opportunity to work at various plants and corporate offices, providing insight at various levels of accounting and finance.

Over the course of her 17 year career, Amber has developed a reputation of being a reliable and dedicated person, always willing to take on new tasks and learn new roles.  She enjoys working with other areas of the business and finds it critical to her role as Controller.

Amber received her Bachelor degree from Western Michigan University with a major in Finance and minor in Accounting.  She enjoys playing sports and outdoor activities such as hiking and camping with her husband and two daughters, Kayla and Taylor.

Paul Penacoli

Paul Penacoli

Sales General Manager, East Division

Paul is the general manager of Pacific Floorcare®’s East Division.  He joined Pacific in 1997 and is currently charged with management, inspiration, direction and development of the eastern U.S. sales team.  In his sales management responsibilities, he identifies key distribution partners and independent sales representation agencies to drive the development and growth of the business.  Responsibilities include leading the sales team and inspiring them to achieve their goals while overcoming the obstacles along the way. 

 Paul has dedicated his career to the sanitary supply industry focused on the equipment business.  He was given the opportunity after graduating from Rutgers to join the sales team of Clarke Floor Machine Company; then located in Muskegon, MI.  After flourishing at Clarke, Paul’s abilities and leadership grew to where he was recruited by Windsor Industries leading their National Sales force.  There he was charged with distributor and end user education, achieving company sales goals, new product introductions and contact with industry associations.  He has also contributed many articles for industry trade publications on the subjects of equipment cost justification, floor/carpet care education and Indoor Air Quality.

 Paul attended college at Rutgers University Camden and earned a BA in Business and Economics.  Paul enjoys spending time with his wife, Cathy, and keeping up with their three grown sons, Joe, Paul Michael and Brian.

Bob Friedman

Bob Friedman

Sales General Manager, West Division

Bob Friedman is the General Manager of the Western Division at Pacific Floorcare®.  He joined the company in 1985; a month after Larry Hines purchased Pacific Floor Machine from Sam Robin.  Bob’s key role was to grow Pacific from a regional floor machine company to a national floor machine company by adding distribution throughout the United States.

Bob has held multiple positions across at Pacific including President.  He was awarded by Larry Hines, the “Hines Corporation 2010 Hall of Fame Award.”  Prior to joining Pacific, Bob spent 27 years with Clarke Floor Machine Company and his last position was National Sales Manager from 1982-1985. He was awarded “Salesman of the Year” two consecutive years.

Bob entered the United States Army and served from 1958-1960.  From there, he entered the workforce and ever-since, Bob’s motto in sales is quite simple, “Just take care of the customer.”  Bob takes great enjoyment in interacting with friends within the industry and spends his off time bicycling and fishing with his wife, Paige and his two children and four grandchildren.

Danielle Fields

Danielle Fields

Sales & Marketing Manager

Danielle Fields is Sales & Marketing Manager of Pacific Floorcare®.  This position plays a critical role in Pacific Floorcare®'s new branding, marketing and sales initiatives.  The activities Danielle is charged with will be key components to growing the company's market share, connection with channel partners and serving end users.

She joined the company in 1997 in Accounts Payable and has since transferred her talents and management abilities to positions in Customer Service, Material Planning, Sales and Operations.  Over the course of her multi-faceted 15-year term at Pacific Floorcare, Danielle has used her skills in organizational management and process development to help the company achieve its goals.

Danielle has a demonstrated track record of success and team building and this has positioned her as a key leader and trusted colleague in the Pacific Floorcare® organization.  Ultimately, though, her true calling is serving customers and gains most satisfaction from developing a strong, positive relationship that helps them do their job well.

 
Prior to joining Pacific, Danielle acquired an accounting degree at Baker Business College of Muskegon.  She enjoys being outdoors, travel and live music.

Mike Houston

Technical Service

Mike Houston joined the company in 1992 as an assembler when Pacific Floorcare acquired US Floors, thus expanding the company's product lines.

He held position of assembler until 1994 when he transferred to the service part department as a shipping coordinator, handling the small service part & machine shipping tasks.

In 2002, after 10 years of building his equipment experience, Mike moved into the technical service department which is where he currently resides.

Mike enjoys working with customers, distributors and the service network to troubleshoot equipment or identify service items that they may need.  His hands-on experience with the building the equipment has greatly developed his diagnostic skills, which in turn means that he can help get equipment repaired and back out in the field in a very short amount of time.   

Before joining Pacific Floorcare, Mike worked in mining, construction, electro-mechanical assembly, as well as operating sheet metal production equipment.

Mike enjoys gardening, hunting and fishing in Michigan's Great Lakes & woodlands as well as visiting farmer's markets and other gardeners who love the outdoors also.

Chad Servello

Chad Servello

Materials Manager

Chad Servello is the Materials Manager at Pacific Floorcare®. He joined the company in 2011 in an effort to re-define and re-establish the inventory levels, develop and manage the new supplier base, and create a high-performing supply chain. Chad’s role is pivotal to helping the company increase supplier relations, cost savings and secure a robust North American supply chain.

Prior to joining Pacific, Chad was Materials Manager for Engine Power Components, a recognized leader in manufacturing of camshafts. During his 6 years with Engine Power Components, Chad led the global supply chain efforts for the company’s three plants based in Spain, Mexico, and the United States. He is credited with reducing supplier lead times, inventory reductions and global sourcing to reduce costs. His prior experience also includes roles at Magna Donnelly, Inc., Haworth, inc., and Textron Automotive.

 Over the course of his 20-year career, Chad has developed a reputation as a specialist in inventory management and reduction, along with supply chain management.

 Chad attended Ferris State University. Chad is an avid boater and active hunter, fisherman and all-around sports enthusiast. Chad enjoys spending time with his family and friends either at the marina or out doing social activities.

Terese Oudemolen

Terese Oudemolen

Manufacturing Supervisor

Terese Oudemolen is the manufacturing supervisor at Pacific Floorcare®.  She joined the company in 2002 as Quality inspector; Terese soon became a key team player and developed into a pivotal employee for Pacific.

Over her 10 years at Pacific Floorcare®, Terese’s floor care experience and acute leadership skills have been recognized and utilized in many areas of operations.  As the current leader in operations, she applies her positive attitude and sheer horsepower toward a consistent increase in efficiencies and quality.

Before joining Pacific, Terese worked as a Quality Inspector at Tennant Company, a leading manufacturer of cleaning equipment, for over 7 years.  With her 17 years of experience and energetic attitude, Terese has proven to be a valuable asset for Pacific Floorcare®.

Among her many talents, Terese particularly enjoys gardening, fishing and making jewelry.  Terese loves living in Michigan and spending time outdoors.
